Aravind Eye Hospital is a collaborating centre for the World Health Organization with a mandate to provide support to community ophthalmology work with a special focus on Human Resource Development. Lions Aravind Institute of Community Ophthalmology (LAICO) is a part of Aravind Eye Care System (AECS) trains Health related and managerial personnel around the world in the development and implementation of efficient and sustainable eye care programmes.

Prime Bank Foundation made an Agreement with AECS for providing Technical and Management Assistance needed to establish and manage a State-of-Art Eye Hospital in Bangladesh on April 2, 2010. As per agreement, AECS Team visited Prime Bank Eye Hospital (PBEH) on December 15, 2011 and decided for arranging Vision Building & Strategic Planning Workshop for PBEH personnel scheduled to be held at LAICO.
